Malaysians are truly remarkable people who are generally and genuinely very attentive towards how they respectfully interact with people of all backgrounds.
This is related to the Malay concept of ‘budi’ by which politeness respect are considered essential to human interaction along with the concept of ‘malu’ (shame, shyness and embarrassment) which to do something inappropriate brings upon an individual, thus encouraging a culture of gracious, polite, good-natured and calm people.
This kindness and respectful appreciation cannot be missed in how they warmly welcome people to their culture and their country.
Going to the country and Immersing yourself in this fantastic multi-cultured, beautiful, vibrant country where everyone is so welcoming is unheard of anywhere else in the world!!

Then add to that tasting some of the best cuisines the world, this made Malaysia one of the most remarkable places we’ve visited.
With Singapore, the Philippines and Hong Kong on the doorstep, you could make this a stop over or indeed a destination. For us it was a city destination – Kuala Lumpur, the capital city.

So, if you’re visiting KL, here are 5 tips for places to go:
1. Visit Petronas Towers where you can walk over the sky bridge that joins the two towers together and you can admire the breathtaking views that stretch across the city of Kuala Lumpur.
2. Visit Batu caves. Located outside of Kuala Lumpur in the suburb of Selangor, carved and cured delicately. It contains Hindu shrines and is still considered an important place of pilgrimage for the many Tamil residents of Malaysia. Look out for the wild monkeys.

3. Visit Central Market / Chinatown where you can mingle with the locals and get an insight into their passion for food with influences form the ethnic backgrounds present in Malaysia such as Malay, Indian, and Chinese.

4. Head to a food haven at Alor Street. Try “Nasi kandir”, honestly you can try anything here and it’s delicious. We might be biased as we love Asian cuisine for its clean and healthy yet tasty flavours.

5. Go for a night out at the Golden Triangle. Fun buzzing and Rich is activities. The area also includes a large shopping center for those looking for some retail therapy or just to buy some trinkets before heading out for a night on the town.

Did you notice that 90% of those playing in this band are blind?
If you have time, visit the tin factory and go and see the fireflies. Any tourist advisor can tell you about these. We did both and didn’t regret it !
Last point now..,
“Gents, get you a shave out here !”
It was wonderful to have a full facial along with a close shave. Friendly Barber who took pride in his work and was dancing while shaving. The shave was truly clean and perfect with a facial and very much affordable. .

Check him out if you’re out there!
