❤️ Vietnam

Known for their cone hats and a rich culture, we enjoyed visiting Vietnam throughly.

A little bit about Vietnam…

Vietnam is famous not just for being a Southeast Asian country but also due to its ancient history, diverse culture and quintessential natural landscapes. They are also largest exporter of cashew nuts and black pepper in the world with one-third of the global production. The country is also the second largest exporter of rice behind Thailand.

We visited Ho Chi Minh City (commonly known as Saigon). It’s famous for the pivotal role it played in the Vietnam War.

We also visited its French colonial landmarks, including Notre-Dame Cathedral, made entirely of materials imported from France, and the 19th-century Central Post Office.

Our hotel was near the bustling Bến Thành Market, famous for Food stalls which line the city’s streets, and a short distance from Phạm Ngũ Lão street also known as backpacker street.

What an amazing experience!

We didn’t visit Cu Chi Tunnels but it’s well reported to be worth the visit.

Top tips:

  1. Change your money there
  2. Get a massage
  3. Visit the Ben Thant market – it’s cheap
  4. You don’t need to stay longer than 3/4 days to have a fabulous time.
  5. Interact with the people with respect, the population is mostly young and they are warm and welcoming
  6. Don’t talk about the war – they’ve moved on, so should everyone else.
