Sharm el Sheikh, 2020

Sharm is so glad to welcome us back from the UK and boy did we have an amazing time for it in March 2020.

Many will know that as this is one of our many visits to Sharm el Sheikh and in the early years of travel we’ve taken the time to visit more places to Cairo and Hurghada and Luxor, all in Egypt. On this trip we went with family and we had an amazzzing time.

Firstly, there’s no better time to return to Sharm now as they make it known unashamedly that they miss the UK’s polite tourists and exchange rate is c1:20 British to Egyptian pound. Don’t worry about changing your money at all, they accept all currencies now but leave your coins at home, take plenty of fivers and dollar bills for tips if you’re so inclined (we recommend tipping as it’s appreciated and we know hospitality isn’t well paid in any country but Egyptians will never ask).

What is so great about Sharm? I’ll keep it to 5 points as usual:

Great weather round the clock so whenever you need a bit of sun, sea, sand and adventure, you can be sure to find it here and most importantly its more affordable than other beach holidays that offer this.
Excellent dessert activities including Quad bikes, Dessert safari, bedouin dinner, star gazing, camel rides,and plenty of water based activities from glass bottom boats to see the gorgeous coral under your feet to speed boat on the Red Sea, through to Snorkeling, sky a diving, aqua parks, the list goes on…
Old market for affordable souvenirs and useful goods from teas to spices to great smelling incense
Biblical significance – Sinai (mose mountain), Red Sea, St Catherines and much more
History – day trip to Cairo to see the world wonder pyramids and also the Sphinx and the Egyptian museum

Keeping it brief but we could certainly go on and on, even about food and drink. So if you’re considering Egypt and have questions about where to stay etc, we will be more than happy to help.
