TOP 5 Tips for enjoying a luxury holiday without breaking the bank…
Our 10th year wedding anniversary found us in LAS VEGAS !
My spectacular husband had a warm champagne welcome in a limousine to take us from the airport to the magnificent Caesars Palace! Now that was something special!

This wasn’t the photo we took but it looked something like this…
Here are our TOP 5 Tips for enjoying a luxury holiday without breaking the bank (after you’ve of course purchased the flight ticket and the hotel)!
1. Explore your hotel
No matter where you stay on the strip, each hotel has something unique and special to offer so look around, take pictures, those moments you will treasure for life! That will take at least a full day with lunch and dinner! Eating on the strip can be costly but well worth it. Heads up Cosmopolitan’s egg slut is always a winner for breakfast, not expensive but must get there by 7am to beat the queues. Stop at Aria for the best THE BEST seafood / crab experience you can have and its buffet and again a wealth of experience with free-flowing drinks in the price. Nightlife at the hotels is also amazing! Each hotel has its own club scene so if you’re looking for a busy night, you will find it here. Wasn’t for us but you cannot miss the abundance of Casinos with waitresses serving free-flowing drinks if you’re into gambling!
2. Take the bus tour!
DO NOT underestimate the size of the hotels and think you can walk from one to the other till the end of the strip, they are far apart. We walked from Caesars to Bellagio (next door) and 90 minutes later, we were still walking! So, plan it and take a taxi, UBER works perfectly! In the evening, there’s a stunning area near Caesars Palace which isn’t in a hotel but is lively and buzzing – a beautiful fountain, restaurants, bars, night clubs, cheap fast food diners, it had everything! Near Caesars is the Bellagio fountains. It is magnificent and costs you nothing to just sit and observe. We found it extremely romantic.

3. Eat off the strip!
Mr Mama’s and many other restaurants are not very far from the strip by Uber and they offer a banquet at affordable prices. Trip advisor or google trips have great suggestions!
4.Go Downtown!
Freemont Street offers a new dimension to your holiday – restaurants, markets, stalls, evening entertainment, it’s like going down a London high street. Walk around during the day and you will also see a wealth of hotels more affordable than on the strip!
5. Catch a show!
All celebrities come to Vegas ! Cirque the Soleil is extraordinary here. Even the not so famous shows are spectacular. You can’t go wrong. Find out which shows are on around the time you’re planning to come here and it may decide your dates of travel. The shows can be costly. Some people will try to sell you an event or timeshare and in exchange for your time (up to 5 hours), will offer you discounts on some shows. If you have the time, fine, do it, but if you don’t have much time on your holiday we wouldn’t recommend it. Your holiday time is far more valuable than the sum you would save.

2 Bonus helpful tips –
- Comfy shoes and plenty of water to keep hydrated in the desert sun
- Have a tip budget if you can. The service industry is built around tipping, so staff are paid low wages.
Other activities you can do (but may stretch your budget):
- Hoover Dam & Grand Canyon – not cheap but worth seeing a wonder of the world, can be up to $300
- San Francisco and nearby cities – why not venture out for a day. Its under $100 return flights
I could go on and on about Vegas but we will have to stop but always remember, as we’ve often been reminded…
Remember……. whatever happens in Vegas stays in Vegas!!
